Fraster was founded in 1993, when Peter Kruse employed a sewing
machinist and purchased carpet remainder and sewing machines
from a bankrupt estate.
Initially the project was simple and short-term: use the
material to make mats and sell them.
But quickly it was realised there was a large market need for
expert rug tailoring, and Fraster as a rug tailor was
born.
Excellent craftsmanship has been an essential quality of
Fraster's development from the beginning. As Fraster has
grown from a small project into a modern manufacturing
company, design has remained a fundamental basis of its overall
development focus.
